Dean, thanks for the comment on my Sept/Oct editorial. I've worried that those who wished 0925 had passed would take the editorial as too negative. You are right that finding the balance as a planner of such events is not always easy. You've got to "stage" enough, but not too much. How do you find the balance when you are planning?

Music & Chocolate: We are already thinking about next year. One observation we have made is the need for newspaper display advertising - at least a 1/4-page. In observing other non-profits, it seems that the best way to pay for advertising is to obtain advertising sponsors - they pay for the ad and get credit in the ad for the event.

By the numbers: approximately 60 people attended; over $950.00 was raised. $100.00 will be sent to United Campus Ministry, the balance is used to support our music ministry.

By the experience: absolutely exquisite! The vocalists shined like stars. Karen Sagraves (piano) and Jason Sloan (flute) added layers of sound that were far more complex and deep than anyone would expect from two musicians.

Thanks. Good to see your name and have a chance to chat with you occasionally. We are still at the church north of Newnan (40 plus years). I am on the board of trustees for the Christian College of Georgia. Best wishes on your work.
